Update!

It's been a crazy few months.

Looking at my last post, I remember how lofty my plans for the year were. They were also boring and unrealistic; funny how things turn out, huh? I'm in a better position now than I would have been had I stuck to the plan.

I also remember that I'm not super sure how to best use this blog. I keep saying I'll use it as a diary, but considering my physical diary is already regularly passed around (siblings amirite) I don't think it's a good idea to put all of myself on the internet like that, lol.

Maybe I'll start posting my art practice here. It's a good way to track my progress, and it'll motivate me to work on it every day without the pressure of a large audience. Or any audience really. Double-edged sword, that.

I'll leave this here with another promise to use this blog more regularly, so...see you in six months!

Long Time No See...Again

Oy vey here we are again, a LITERAL YEAR after my last uneventful post. I guess I'll just use this as my diary, then? That would at least give me an excuse for my absences, I've never been able to buckle down and use a diary consistently.

Since my last post I've:

  • Turned nineteen
  • Moved to the USA, permanently (probably)
  • Moved in to my own place
  • Gotten a cat (her name is Cupcake and she's the best)
  • Gotten a WHOLE LOT better at art
I think that about covers the big things. Oh, I also finally got my physical diploma. Woohoo!

I'm going to try and keep this blog updated, if not daily then weekly. I'll queue some posts soon too. Once I slip into a routine it should be easy to keep this up! It'll be interesting to look back in a few years and see my thoughts.

~Ciao~

Now I'M in School!!!

Finally.

I've enrolled into an online school program so I can get into a nice thicc university even though I left the states before finishing school :P

It's kind of overwhelming currently but I'm optimistic! I'll get the hang of it and everything will be great. Hopefully. Probably not because I'm taking physics and physics makes me want to die but it's fine.

My wee babby laptop might be on its last leg actually, and that's a problem. We don't really have the funds to be replacing it but maybe we'll hit the lottery soon! After all, it's nearly mu 18th and supposedly that's a magical number.

That's another post entirely actually, so I'll stop here. Wish me luck with these classes, ough;;;

My Sisters are in School!

I'm so glad! Homeschooling was going well academically, but the older one is a social butterfly and needs more than just us to keep her engaged. Also I can't take much more of having her around 24/7. She's uh, bubbly. And I am not. Love her to bits, but our personalities don't mesh that well. It'll be great for her to go out and make some friends, and the younger one can have that opportunity too!

I'll admit that I'm a bit worried about her though. She's super shy and was completely silent during the tour. I dunno, I just really really hope things go well for her. I don't think many kids in her age group speak English so we'll work on that together. That aside, she's incredibly smart and I have no doubt she'll do well in that regard.

Enough bragging about my widdle baby sisters, I've got to catch up in my Japanese lessons. Ta for now!

Finding a Job is Hard

I'm sick of being broke and I'd very much like to help out my household with some income, so earlier today I began the search for work!

As it turns out, getting a job in a foreign country when you don't speak the language is hard. What a shocker. Nothing online was open for a high school student--what a shocker--so I'll be going around to local businesses and seeing if they have any openings available! I probably should have done that first but whatever.

The cafe I would have loved to work at is, unfortunately, not hiring. Which makes me very sad. But on the bright side, there are apparently places in town that specifically hire expats! Which is what I am now!!! One is a pizza place and one is a brewery, so both will require me to put on the customer service persona (unless I'm working in the back which would be lovely), but I'm in absolutely no place to be picky. I'll just be grateful if I'm hired at all!

That's that for now, hopefully something good will come along soon!
